MumMa

MumMa is a Creation Created by Two Sisters (MumMa-Lia & MumMa-Reta) from Christchurch, NZ. We offer Childrens Wear & Accessories Made in New Zealand ranging from 3mths to 4yrs.

Where did you come up with the name MumMa? It was pretty straight forward - both being Mothers and also referencing our own mother as MumMa... it seemed logical! Knowing that we were embarking on this adventure for love rather than money, our company name "MumMa" was perfect in summarising what we are all about!

What are five words that describe your work? Original, Unique, Quality, Never dull!

What was your favourite toy as a child? Teddy dressed in Adidas onesie tracksuit & a brown rabbit! (we still have them!)

And now? 

Mareta: Mobile! lol.... I consider that a toy!

Malia: Snap Press machine....I know it sounds totally lame!!! lol

What is making you happy right now? 

Family - never a dull moment, the reality check kicks in when you spend time with your children.  

What did you dream about last night? 

Mareta: No idea!... was out like a light!

Malia: Dreamed about getting more sleep! lol

What is something that can always make you feel better? 

Mareta: Chocolate.... how can it not! 

Malia: Chocolate!!! I'm a chocoholic!

Do you do anything crazy to inspire creativity?  

We are mums... what do you think... you can not help but be a little crazy at times! lol.

We get inspired by not doing anything "crazy" but by noticing people around us. We pay attention to what people are wearing and how they wear their outfits and think "wow....I have an idea for a piece" and we develop our ideas from there. We pay attention to whats hot and whats not and what the latest trends are and do our best not to follow them!

Were you popular in High School? 

Mareta: I think thats a matter of opinion! lol.......

Malia: Well...I don't think I ever really was, I was too much of an introvert!

What is your favourite quote? 

Mareta: "Don't spend time helping others reach their dream, spend time making your own dream happen!"

What do you hope to be remembered for?

Being a person who gave everything a go and that we were not quitters, but more importantly doing our best at being as best parents as we possibly could be!
